WHEN IS AN ASP LEVEL 2 ELECTRICIAN REQUIRED

Any part of the electrical installation from Essential Energy's low voltage Network to the main switch in retail customers main switch board (MSB) will most likley require an Acredited Service Provider (ASP) Level 2. In other words, from the powerlines / Green boy pillar or pit to the main switch in the MSB requires level 2 trained personal.

A level 2 electrican has undergone extra training beyond the standard electical licence which allows them to work on the essential energy network and live cabling. It is much more dangerous, requires two workers at all times and a great deal of paperwork which results in a more expensive service than standard electrical work.
